Stone Chips...
« on: July 26, 2009, 04:34:20 pm »

Anyone had their car protected with Paintshield/Ventureshield or is the 'bra' a better option ???

Only had the car a couple of weeks and already picked up a couple of chips which really stand out on a white car - could slow down but having too much fun  !!

This may have been discussed elsewhere but can't find it..i've heard that the paintshield could be £700 ??  :scared:
Any advice would be great..ta

Not had it done on my MK5 but had it on my MK2 TT.  Due to the shape of it's bonnet the TT is very prone to chips and a lot of people suffered badly, but I didn't get a single chip! So yes it does work  :happy2:  Cost me over £500 but worth it if you're fussy about chips.

One thing to consider with a white car is to get a film that won't yellow with age otherwise it will look nasty over time.

Illyun is the only one on here i think with the film shield, Its a trade off really because you can see it quite clearly.
I would just get yourself some touch up paint and not let it bother to much.

Consider it war scar's

I only have 2 but i wear a bra on long journeys.  :pomppomp:

Front plus bonnet of mine is all plastic and carbonfibre, so I'm not bothered. Unavoidable.

....That's not what Steve said after your long journey to The Ring together
