« on: July 24, 2009, 09:59:17 pm »
Has anyone one else fitted one of these to there car, if so where did you put the catch can?

Also any other tips for the install?

Cheers,

Steve  :happy2:

You can fit the can on the passenger side, mirroring the install instructions for the can on the driver side (if that makes sense). You'll have to run the hoses under the intake. Are you using the stock air box?

Apart from that the install is pretty simple...

....

I think you have to permanently remove the stock engine cover (unless you already have).

There'll be threads on this subject across the pond on GOLFMKV.

you should be able to still use the stock air box.

If you had a standard GTi, you could have also done the install like the pic below but I think the DV and associated plumbing on the ED30 may not provide you with enough room.

....Yes, as the pic shows - A rather crude and nasty hack (which doubtless could be much better done with a round headed arch and edges smoothed.

i've got mine fitted to the left of the engine as you are looking at it, next to the washer fluid bottle, jkm did it for me on thursday.

got it put there as plan to get that new forge twintake and that looks like it takes up the whole of the right side of the engine bay so wanted to make sure it fits.
