How much did you pay for the BSH one, £200 or so?

Way less, £106 delivered next day

Finally got around to fitting mine  :rolleye:

The latest version of the BSH one had moved on but the details on the website and the instruction sheet are a bit different.

The new version now has a mesh in side (no wire wool to remove and clean) and drain valve on the bottom.

Here's some picture of the fitted can: -

This was supplied by Dubtek who have just started to import the BSH product range, look out for our own forum discount from them very soon (or like me watch their cheap auctions on ebay)  :happy2:

That's great - been wanting to fit one for a while - very concerned about the sludge build up as I'm currently doing about 20 - 25k a year in the ED30.  Am glad this kit seems to fit under the original engine cover. Am put off by any products that do away with the cover.  The TFSI is not the most "aesthetic" of engines.  Wonder what the main dealer will say when it comes to service time.

Regards,

Gareth

....I also did 20k this last year (and averaging about 16k the previous 3 years).

I agree about the fugliness of the engine without a cover - Unless you've modded it like jonnyc did his : - :notworthy:

However, this EVOMS cover is available - You add your own centre strip : -

VW dealers definitely vary in their attitudes towards mods. Mine has always been extremely friendly but I have actually given them the extra business of fitting some of my mods. Now I mainly use VWR who have recently become an officially approved servicing dealer and they obviously understand modded GTI's!

....So which aftermarket cover would you prefer if fitting something which means the stock one has to go?

[Don't answer that here - I'm gonna start a new thread on the subject]

And hey! Steve! I was just checking to see how you'd interpret my words!  Hook.....Line.....

....

A question for you, Steve...........

Re the bracket which you attach to the car and which holds the BSH black overflow bottle (near the oem windscreen wash bottle)....Can it be attached at a lower position, even if it means making a different fixing or by extending the one BSH supply?

Thanks
