I'm thinking of getting some OE 16's back on my car and taking off my 18's but trying to find out if the standard OE 16's will fit over the GTI 312 brake set up??

We had the 312mm set up on my wifes old Fabia vRS and it was ok with the standard 16's. It was tight though so I guess it may depend on the offset and/or design of the spokes.

Should be ok though.

Ah cool, just don't fancy swapping the brakes over its not worth it as I'm thinking of returning the car to standard-ish and maybe changing soon.

16s are fine. 15s are fine for 288mm brakes
