Best basic sat nav for parents?
« on: March 29, 2013, 04:04:31 pm »
Hi.

My parents (both in 70s) have finally decided that a sat nav might help them find their way around!  It would need to connect to a Mac for updates (preferably free) and be easy to operate.

I'm guessing Garmin and TomTom - do both makes work OK with Macs?

Any suggestions or good deals that you know of?

Cheers.

Not too sure if they work with Macs but TomTom are definitely the more user friendly!

Another vote for Tom Tom.  Had one in the work's van for years.  I found it very intuitive to use out of the box compared to a Garmin I had a go with which wasn't!

And I got a great Tom Tom in the for sale section on this forum for around £30 delivered - very basic, but for the UK you don't need anything more.
Idiot proof especially for the older generation  :happy2:
