Nice to meet you too Luke and a nice bit of editing there mate, John will be happy..  :happy2:

Rich - Saw your car going up the strip a fair few times. The terminal speeds seemed quite strong given the headwind. What mods have you got again?

Was a good day and got loads of runs in  :driver:

Consistently running around 14.8s with my best being 14.6 a second quicker than October last year  :star:

Head wind was a PITA  :fighting:

Had my map reloaded the other day as the battery had been disconnected to do some repairs and the car feels a lot quicker, thinking it might of set to default settings when I had some work done before

Defo be up for a convoy to inters this year if your going?

Who's was the Red GTI with the black roof and some sort of launch control (manual car)? That seemed to shift pretty well, but no idea what mods..

Watching all these Golf's flying up the strip today didn't half bring back some memories of running mine...   :sad1:

Thanks for the vids Luke :happy2:

It was a bad day for trying to set any records. I'm glad I left the race fuel at home for the day and just ran the V-Power and WMI for a baseline. Best run of the day was a 12.3038 with a 1.7741 sixty foot time. The car was full weight including over half a tank of fuel, another 5 litres of water to clean the car, 2 helmets, various cleaning stuff and all Luke's videoing stuff plus his rucksack. The headwind was atrocious and knocked a little off my times and also just happened to be the hottest day of the year to date! The car wasn't running perfectly as it seemed to have some power loss going into 5th gear....just seemed a little "thinner" than normal! Anyway, just 0.03 seconds off the 4WD K04 record in those conditions isn't too bad at all. :happy2:
Golf R gone.

Apparently it's quite a "common" problem, where the diff is held together with rivets one of them decided to break and make a run for it. I think 3rd gear syncro on that box was going anyway but still.. My buddy towed me to the BP station 10 miles or so down the road and my friend who was in the car with me had AA cover so we used that lol

Are you mapped for the WMI, also are you now single port or direct port injection.  Would have been great to see the difference up the strip that the WMI makes if you could switch between maps and then also do one with race fuel.  The DSG R is definitely the best platform for confirming the actual gains as its so consistent in the launch and traction.

Thats a gleaming 60ft time.  Just had a look at Keiths times in the 1/4 mile thread, your 0.14 up on him there. You need to get your slip and times up in the thread.   :happy2:

I'm still single port injection at the moment.

That run hooked up well, most of my other launches were 1.83-1.89. I think after 7-8 launches the DSG isn't as crisp as in the first few runs, so the launches to the 60' dropped a little.
Golf R gone.

Hoping to get my timing slips today, a buddy of mine got it for me as I was towed away early.

Think I did a 15.7 at 93mph considering the headwind I'm really pleased with that.
