I really don't understand the pricing of the new gti. BMW and merc are offering more premium and considerably faster cars for less money. It's not even 250hp standard, poor show vw.

Tis good in a way, as Mk5 / Mk6 variants may hold their value slightly better, opposed to if the Mk7 was cheaper... but yes it (dare I say) is over priced.

The base price hasn't changed hugely, it's just when you add a few choice extras that the price rockets. I very quickly had over £4k of options.

£28,380 for mine. I won't order one though as a matter of principle because they're asking for £125 for door sill trims. Lol.

My Mk5 will keep me happy for a good while yet. Just jinxed my car now :sad1:

It'll be a few years before I can afford one of these, and a Golf R will be my next Golf (still some time away!!), so I'm hardly gonna go for a GTi after that!!

Why would you spend £35k+ on a GTI :rolleye:

+1 I'm afraid.

Residuals will drop like a stone like pretty much 90% of cars these days too regardless of badge.

Just checked the VW website and it is the same. I'm amazed by that to be honest. Who needs a diesel!?
