It was an optional extra approved by VW: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/volkswagen/golf-r32-r/vw--abt-volkswagen-golf-r32-2007-370hp/1055228 - So probably not technically made by VW.  Bet it's a belter though.

I remember this from years ago.  If I recall correctly it is a k03 with a stage 1 map on it.

I disagree, as the one in the link should be one of the last mk 5's made and is from 08, ED30 being from 07 and 08

Just uping this topic, the engine code for a Edition 240 should be a BWA?

No one knows but likely a BWA if it was a 2008 car.
