any mk4 1.9'er veterans??
« on: July 24, 2009, 07:12:26 pm »
Recently, along with all the BT banter, im getting increasingly tempted by getting an uprated turbo setup for my 1.9 TDI.

I know there is a lot of info out there paticulally with the last gen platform with regards to the 1.9 as all TDIs were based on the 1896 cc block. But with the mk5 the 2.0 kind of took over leaving the 1.9 to be offered with 105 raging ponies.

Anyone clue'd up enough to give any ball part figures of prices, power etc

Revo just doesnt cut it anymore

cheers

I used to have the MKIV GTTDI 130. All I did to it back then though was to remap it, change the wheels and put a backbox on the zorst. Didn't look into any turbo upgrades back then though. Jabba have a good rep at turbo upgrades and I'm sure they used to run a hybrid turbo on a Fabia VRS, which was basically the same engine as the Golf 130.

I'd have thought you could get the turbo, injectors etc off a 150PD MKIV/Leon and upgrade it that way? Loads of them knocking about for a cheap upgrade and it'll fly once mapped.
Sideways yo!

I know 3 people who had Jabba maps on their PD130s, all needed new turbos within a short space of time.

I had a PD130 and a PD160, all in Ibizas.  The 130 was remapped to 172bhp and 305lb/ft by old AmD and the 160 was remapped to 198bhp and 298lb/ft by Revo.  Neither caused me any trouble.

TDIclub.com will tell you all about the possibilities, in fact everything you need to know TDI wise is there.
