Suspension kit
« on: April 01, 2013, 07:24:37 pm »
Hi all

Looking to upgrade suspension, think I've narrowed it down to either Bilstein B12 kit or H&R cup kit. Whilst I can find plenty of positive reviews on the B12 I can't find much about the H&R. Anybody running with either set up & which would you recommend.
Any advice much appreciated  :happy2:
Chris

I have been in a car with H&R setup and it was impressive but obviously the bil's will still be a little better.

Hi,

I'm also thinking of one of the two named. My main criteria is to keep it as comfortable as possible. For me, the drop isn't as important.

Noble, how was the ride on the H&Rs? Does anyone know how it compares to the Bilsteins?

Rick

I honestly cannot comment on the Bil's for this chassis, only ever experienced them on a Mini.

For the H&R's they are adjustable and you can make the ride comfortable :-)

Put the B12 Sportline kit on last week, only done a few miles and still need an alignment done but they have a quality feel - better than the Koni FSD dampers that used to be on.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Thanks for the opinions  :happy2:, think I will go with the B12 kit once I have saved a few more pennies!

Is it best to replace the top mounts at the same time?

Cheers, did you just pick up the parts from dealer or elsewhere?

I got a lot at the time but if i recall all four mounts plus front top bearings was about £110ish.

To be honest the ones from ECP with the discount are probably just the same but much cheaper.

By the way, a B12 group buy started on here today  :happy2:
