Flickering xenons after retro fitting
« on: April 20, 2013, 07:27:18 pm »
Hi guys I've just fit OEM xenons to the jetta but I'm having some troubles, one minute there working as they should then I park up and leave it for a bit turn lights on and they flicker constantly?! I've looked on VAGCOM to code them but I'm not getting any options for coding xenons? I've looked in central electrics and central conv. Long coding to no avail.
Any help would be great guys!

Cheers Steve

What car have you Steve?

Did you check you have Highline control module?

Can you post up auto scan from VCDS  :happy2:

It's a jetta, I think I have highline as I've got auto lights/wipers. I'm not sure how to post the scan tbh?

Auto lights and wipers is central convience

You want address 9 central electrics for the xenons

How many bytes does your controller have in address 9?

Just copy and paste the scan in your reply  :happy2:

Cheers for that omeydz, that's a big old no then! Haha does anyone have any numbers for the highline module so I can source one?
Should they not flicker all of the time instead of working 50% and flickering 50% of the time?

Steve

I think some have coded it on a mid version for xenons, you need to enter a number instead of ticking a box

These are my scans

I'm thinking its the midline CECM, does anyone know the highline part number?
Had a play around with it this morning and with just ignition on the lights work fine but as soon as the engine is turned on the strobing starts, but I can fool it sometimes by turning the lights on before turning the engine on, a bit of a faff but will do till I can source a highline CECM.  :sad1:

Have found a list of 3C0 & 3C8 numbers that are highline but unable to find a list for 1K0 numbers, and typically the ones local to me are 1K0  :fighting:

OMEYDZ!!!!!! You my friend are a legend, thank you sooo much!  :notworthy:
Just simply adding 10 to my 4th byte sorted it, now it's all good

Thanks again, I owe you a drink!  :drinking:
