MK5 Golf Air Conditioning problem
« on: April 23, 2013, 02:23:47 am »
Hi,
I have a MK Golf GT TDi. Year: 2004.
I recently purchased the car and have come across a few faults. I have posted a couple already and the advice I have got so far has been great.
The car is factory fitted with climatronic air conditioning and because of the cold months I have only just realised a problem with the cold setting on the air conditioning.
When the cold air condtioning is selected it provides cold air on the driver's side no problem (nice and cold) but the air is roasting hot on the passenger side.
Can anybody give me advice on what may be causing this and how to fix it - what may be involved.
To be honest, this is the first time I have used a climatronic system but I don't think I am doing anything wrong. The digital display reads the same for both right and left-hand sides when the right side blows out cold air when required.
Cheers,

It sounds like one of the blend valve actuators (passenger side) is stuck in the 'open' position. Best thing to do is get your car scanned for faults using VCDS of if you feel like throwing away best part of £100, get VW to do it

There are a number of forum users all over the country with VCDS who would be happy to help you out, see the thread 'VCDS owners register'  :happy2:

Yep I agree. Sounds like the motorised flapper to siphon hot/cold air on that side is jammed or broke. Vagcom scan should give you a pretty reliable diagnosis and tell you the teperature blowing past different components of the climatronic system too as a live reading.
Recently back on the forum! Good to be back
