Cleaning and Re-Painted Brake Calipers - Now With Video**

Been a few topic on this of recent, but cant seem to find them now.

Just looking for info. What is the best product to clean them?....like at Halford or on eBay?

And can some link the best red brake caliper paint to use.

I find for a general clean G101 works quite well to get the dirt and grease off.

I resprayed mine last weekend:
Used G101 to remove dirt ect
Sanded down to create something for the paint to stick to
Cleaned with cloths to remove dust
Sprayed with colour and then top coated.

Mine are in pretty bad shape, will i need anything stronger? some people say Brake / clutch oil with wire brush, clean then paint.

Also, is painting with a brush a bit easier than spraying bearing in mine i would be doing it outside?

it works well on tyres makes the tyre dressing last longer


I think i used some degreaser with a wire brush when i first did it on my GT, looked something like this before i started to spray.



It will be alot eaiser than spraying as you can control where the brush goes, spray gets everywhere

Back to the topic.. With regards to G101, would any other APC used semi neat do the same job?
Any recommendations for caliper paint or is the halftauds stuff decent?

Just get some Foliatec Brake Caliper Paint. It has everything included to prep and paint your calipers.

Did the ED30 come with red calipers from the factory? mine have gone faded and would love them looking 'factory fresh' but unsure how to go about it

Yeah i think im  gonna take mine off, after watching this video im going to take them off, clean, paint and replace pads.
