Sorry to hear about this increasing problem.

This is the RCD300 cover but this wasn't to hide an RNS.  Don't think it would really work as it wouldn't fit over the knobs..

Hurdy's RCD300 cover..

I was looking at this earlier. the only way i can see it fitting it if you removed the knobs from the RCD300 facia so you are left with 2 round holes. These holes would fit straight over the knobs of the RNS510... even then, it would not sit flush..

There are so many Scumbags in this country!  :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

The SupaGlass protection sounds like a reasonable possibility.

Phoned one of the franchises... the supaglass for a 5 door golf is £550 + VAT all in.....

Wow, £660 is a lot of money. Like others, I'd worry that they'd damage the car further if they couldn't get in.

Two forum members systems nicked in as many days has got me concerned. If anybody wants to arrange a group buy on the VW navi lock then I'd be seriously interested!

I think the surround is the original one

I think you drill holes so the pins come through

Looks tough in the video when attacked with a crowbar

Sorry to see this mate. Hope you get it sorted and still enjoy the motor :happy2:

Like the disguise idea. Need to see if I could make it work with the Kenwood unit.

Thanks for all messages guys. Feeling a lot better than i were yesterday afternoon.

Window has been replaced today so i could at least drive it home and secure it. Going in to repair center Friday morning so be interesting to see how long its away for.

Does anyone know if the wiring loom and aerials to back of head unit are separate looms that go to fuse box etc or are they part of main cabin loom?

Needs wiring regardless anyway as 3 wires have been ripped clean out of connector and pins.

Looking at GPS antenna connector as well part of the plug from back of radio is still in the connector so if anyone is offered/buys a RNS510 with the antenna plug broken you know who's it is!!

Just read the post. What a horrible situation. Hope you get your car sorted and back to normal.

I thought head units getting stolen was generally a thing of the past.
Mrs T's car Satnav is integrated with a separate screen and controls. The only problem with them is that its harder to upgrade later.
Bye Bye Edition 30.

First mod on my car was the latest and best alarm system I could possibly find!

Got the best Clifford, all singing and dancing alarm they had with an additional siren. Now if anyone comes near the car it will start chirping! Not set so that it chirps every time someone walks past but if anyone gets too close to the car.

Glass tamper sensors, proximity and tilt sensors all as standard.

At the end of the day these  theiving knobs will get what they want, however I will do as much as possible to delay them.
If you're having Audio problems i feel bad for ya son... I've got 99 problems but Bass aint one!

Will this navi lock work in a Mk5 like it does in the mk6 that has a different surround?
