Yeah, cheers Andy!
I've spoken to Darkside, they tell me I can get a 6 speed box which will fit straight in with my current driveshafts, starter and will also take my clutch! So I will just do that.

It's a GQN box from a Touran apparently. My box that blew was the stock 5 speed GQQ code.
My clutch, shafts everything will bolt straight into the GQN so yeah.

Air sounds awesome mate.

Pricey clutch kit, who's it made by? Love the 6 speed idea.

Haha yeah hopefully I won't forget too many times. Apparently the gearing is a bit longer now so runs to 58 in 2nd rather than my current 54.. mmmm...

Starting to wish I bought air instead now lol. I'd happily take it to Show n Shine..
What clutch kit is pricey? The one I got? Around 600.. custom flywheel with Darkside heavy duty pressure plate and G60 friction disc.

..... the parts for the 6 speed conversion only come to around £700, but the clutch to take the power I'm running would be another £800 on top of that...

That one, but with the pressure plate and friction disc it makes sense. Still what one are you going for? Obviously not an oem one?

The 6 speed box from a Touran is a direct bolt on replacement for my gearbox and will take my current clutch buddy. Which cost around £600. It's only 4 months old and not really done many miles, and should be fine (it obviously did a run or two while dripping oil out and didn't slip).

Sorry I should have clarified.  :popcornsoda: That's the only reason I am putting the 6 speed in otherwise I would replace with a normal 5.

The best upgrade would be the 2.0 TDI 6 speed as they are bolted and can take the abuse, but that's where you run into the clutch, driveshaft and starter motor problems - being that you need to swap everything out!

That ibiza that went down the strip was insanely quick and smokey!

I always imagined diesels like this

My mates t4 on the dyno, it was hugely overfuelling as you can see, still made 140 bhp and stupid amounts of torque for the sh*tty engine that is in the t4

Normally you want a smoke free map. It depends on the car or the map, tune or style that deems smoke. The Darkide Ibiza had nos and I suspect massive injector duration, with massive injectors it's only natural for a bit of smoke I guess.

No worries bro! Only one vid so far I'll get a link later. It's not really smokey at all!

19 a bit too big for what I'd want mate, rather stick with my 17s for now, 18s on the cards though but that is getting further and further away with these broken bits that keep cropping up haha. There are some really nice Merc/Brabus wheels around, AMG Aero IIs for a start..
