I do offer a detailing service  :signLOL: :popcornsoda:

Great transformation, I bet you love parking next to standard ones now and reminding yourself of what it use to look like.

Keep it up  :happy2:

That actually happened today at Sainsburys lmao, exactly how my car was standard. I would have gotten a picture but I was wearing trackies and people were already looking at me weird.
Very nice project so far!  :congrats: I like what you have done.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks  :happy2: I have had a look through your thread as well, I must say it's pretty nice.. and the colour is great.

A few issues with bodywork, as a valance I bought unfortunately broke while removing, however I was refunded by the seller (on here, thank you Jonny). I have fortunately managed to source another GTI valance posted for £40... let's hope an omen doesn't curse that one.

I'm trying to get an ED30 splitter, news on that to come, with any luck I will have it tomorrow, otherwise I will have to wait until a few months down the line and I will buy one new.

It's my 22nd Birthday in May (woop woop) and so I have asked for GTI Skirts, which I will get painted as well.. then along with the rest of the colour coding going on, I would get the door handles and rub strips done.. quite excited over what's to come over the next few months.

Looking forward to GTI Springfest next Sunday, I will be aiming for a 14.xx, having known what a friend run in his tuned diesel, and mine is just a little quicker than his, I think it's within reason.

Haha :p

Right so unfortunately doesn't seem like I can get the splitter today, maybe I can brave the rush hour traffic and get it one evening after work before next weekend..

One of those Sundays where you don't know what to do lol.

Thank you very much!  :notworthy:

I'm trying to get an ED30 splitter, news on that to come, with any luck I will have it tomorrow, otherwise I will have to wait until a few months down the line and I will buy one new.

I think the ED30 front valance (splitter) looks very, very good.
If you want to buy it new, this site might help: http://shop.ahw-shop.de/vw-golf-5-1k/aussenausstattung/stossstangen-und-spoiler/jubi-gti-30-jahre-frontspoiler-golf-5-jetta?c=1758
Follow the discounts and you may get a ED30 splitter at 200 EURO (like I did).
Best of luck!

You just have to keep an eye on that site.
I am not aware of any date for discounts and I just visit that site every now and than to look for discounts.

Read through this last night. Great right up and some very good progress. Shame you had to sell the Street but looks like the cash went to good use. I have a Speed 1050

Thanks for the link... I am not sure really what's happening with the seller, maybe I will end up getting it at the end of the month as originally discussed. We'll have to see.

You and me both lol... Mein furher ist kaputt?!? something like that.

Thank you buddy. Yes, I do miss the bike a lot.. kind of like a holiday romance in a way, as I only had it 6 months, and it was hidden away over winter for 3... I'd do anything to have it back.
Speed 1050 is a lovely bike as well! Tasty with the single sided swinger, plus the same lovely engine note. My Dad had a Tiger 1050, something about those engines which are pretty special..

clean that is :)

 Cheers for the kind words.

Todays spur of the moment purchase was brought to you by Lucozade. (or rather the 4 bottles I drank before I went to sleep which kept me up, and meant I found it in the classifieds..

MFD2 DVD. Bought it from DSG Steel, really nice bloke and pleasure to deal with.. Not jealous of the Civic at all...  :sad1:

5 minutes on the laptop with Vagcom and I got compass to display in my highline cluster and also route guidance, which was quite helpful.

Why did I go for an MFD2 over an RNS510?
Couple of reasons... firstly, MFD2s are far less desirable. Thus less likely to be nicked. They are also half the price.
Secondly, with my car being 2004/05 I would need to change the Can gateway thingy, to stop the battery drain, an addition £80 or so... A quick text to Eddie with a super speedy answer (thank you!!!) confirmed my suspicions that this would be fine with my existing hardware.
Thirdly, what does an RNS have over an MFD2 really? You can get it working as a DVD player if you really want it, the sat-nav guided me through London quite happily, I found it pretty simple to use after 2 minutes prodding around and it's really improved my audio quality over the RCD300 that was in there.
