RCD510 and Bluetooth
« on: April 05, 2013, 07:08:21 am »
I have a RCD510 in my mk6 gti.  The car has MFSW.  When I bought it I got the dealer to fit bluetooth, but they fitted the bury unit (I think that's what it's called it has the 3.5" screen)  The phone button on both the headunit and the MFSW don't do anything.  I don't like the little screen on the dash and would prefer everything the to integrated into the HU.  To do this what would I need and roughly how much would it cost?  I've heard about a fiscon unit but there seems to be 2 types, what are the differences?

Do a search,  theres a few topics on this.

There are two main kits to choose from:
5N0 and 5K0 kits.

You will need the module, loom and microphone. Theres also a fitting guide in the how to section:

Fiscon Basic works through MFSW and Highline only.

Basic Plus also does this but you can make use of the Phone button and touchscreen with an RNS510/RCD510 etc.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

If it helps, I had the bury kit in my car when I bought it, I didn't like the screen either so I just don't use it and have tied it up out the way behind the dash and hid the microphone in the roof where the oe one goes and works a treat just don't see anything... BUT you have to use your phone to make and receive a call which is fine by me :)

I have a RCD510 and have had fitted the 5K0 Bluetooth kit (fitted and supplied by Eddie-NL on here).

From Ed's sale thread (below) from last year, works with Mk6 MFSW and obviously the button on the Headunit too. All the part numbers are listed if your doing this yourself or contact Ed as he may be able to help. :happy2:
