New Front End Advice
« on: April 06, 2013, 03:57:30 pm »
Well, I have my new bits on the car and painted.

The rear bumper was from ebay and fits pretty well for a non-genuine part.

The boys at the body shop did a good job but screwed my front grille up. I asked them to paint the red trim silver but instead they painted the whole thing.

They have offered to repaint black but if they do that the grille will no be the same colour as the bottom 3.

What do you think I should do?

As you can see from my pictures, my Golf is just my daily driver but I still love it and want it to look right.

I think you need to do what you want to do buddy, as it's your car as deep down you know what you want. The bodyshop seem happy to help, so do what you feel like.  :happy2:

Yeah, I may just buy a new grille but I bought this one of a member on here so do not have a clue where to buy another. There are some on ebay but they range from £50 to £188 and I do not know if there are any differences other than the price.

Yeah it is OEM, just used the hacksaw method, and within an hour it was on.

Really easy.

Satin black, can that still be laqured to protect the finish.

The middle lower grille is OEM and the other two are ebay snides, I was told that you wont notice the difference from the OEM when it comes to the fog covers.\\
