Faulty boot connection ??

Hi

My boot light dosnt come on when I open it on my 54 plate gti. The bulb and the holder are ok , as it lights up when connected in the passenger footwell.
I have even replaced the boot latch that contains the microswitch. I have checked all my fuses and nothing has blown.

Any ideas?
