I had an r27 f1 in ly from new 57 plate was on its 3rd box by 30 k miles handles broke a snapped spring had to do all disks n pads, Since selling ball joints have went coil packs window wipers failed and a drive shaft, had 2 clio's and a megane f7r 16v before it all with a lot of problems so I'm not going back as much as I love the handling and braking on the r27, Looking forward to there new gearbox coming out don't see it being reliable  :signLOL:

Was it drawn up by the same design team that did the current BMW 1 series? Both always reminds me of this -->

Not particularly pretty but the Evo review of it said it's good. Apparently not as engaging as the previous 200, but better in other ways.

Has that been lightly 'shopped, as the rear door shutlines seem barely visible (if at all...)??

I gotta say, I had a Clio R27 before the Golf and it was a hell of a lot more reliable. Also, the paint stayed on the car, rather than chipping off copiously and it didn't go rusty either, unlike this German piece of crap.

You seem more accustomed with clio-sport.net Si

I don't think the 'fast' Clio in a 5 door is particularly right, given the heritage of the 172, 182 and 197/200 all being 3 doors. I guess the F1 car that influenced it all was technically a 0 door though

Still not won over on the looks, I'd take your old R27 any day!...

Never been on Cliosport in my life, Pete. If I'm honest, I found all the Renault forums too precious and fanatical about the Renaultsport brand which was rather tiresome after a while.

Saw one on the A34 on route to Rtech... And it looks pants

Not keen on the new look at all.. Much prefer the looks of the old model.

Is that why you changed it for an R32?

Are you implying VAG forums are the same, Ian? :surprised:

The wife made me change it! Also I wanted something a little more rounded. The Clio was a great B road car, but a terrible major road one. It was doing 4000 rpm at 75 on the clock and it got boring not being able to hear the radio whenever I drove it on the motorway. It was no better on fuel either at about 25 mpg average...

There was loads of things I preferred about it, though. Little things like the wing mirrors not falling off and the climate control actually working. Didn't squeak, creak and rattle like a Golf either!

All forums are going to be biased to the brand, Renaultsports forums " fastest cars on track", golf forums " my car is faster than a Lamborghini and any other car is badly built" bmw forums "I'm bigger and have more money than you" blah blah.
As for the new Clio, I don't like the idea of it but after seeing monkeys review I think he has a point, it's a young mans car and maybe to a 20 year old it makes sence, I know the original 172 did to me. As for the looks, I just can't get on with it.
BMW 335d msport touring lci. Auto, estate and diesel! Oh no
