Jacking points
« on: April 13, 2013, 06:28:29 pm »
Getting myself a trolley jack and wondering where's the best place to locate it when jacking up to remove a wheel back or front.
Is it ok to use the area on the sill where the VW supplied jack would go?
Where would you place an axle stand once you have the car of the ground?

I used the back of the wish bone mount for the axle stand

My mate has a two post lift and I'm always using the strengthened bit of sill to lift it (denoted by arrows).

As for where to put axlestands, it depends what you're doing. If changing brakes then on the wishbone bush as suggested is good.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
