Anyone in the Midlands know how to fit Stereo's?
« on: July 28, 2009, 10:09:35 pm »
Hi all, I have a Pioneer stereo that I bought off the bay, none of the car shops, (ie Halfrauds) will fit it as its not one of there parts, and there aren't a lot of other places I know of.
I live in Wolverhampton, is there anyone around who would be able to give me a hand fitting it? I know Greenhouse is Solihull way, anyone else want to have a go?
(hope this isnt too random, and that someone can help) Ta. :happy2:

I take it it's for a mk5 golf? It's not difficult, just timeconsuming. Put it this way, I've put a jvc headunit into a fiesta and an rns510 into a gti. If I can do it, anyone can.

Here's the removal guide clicky and I'm sure others can help with aftermarket hu installs.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Do you have all the cables and the correct Quadlock adapter?

Gave in and got it fitted by Bass junkies, not cheap, and quite gutted about 2 things...
1) THe ipod wire doesnt run from the rear of the stereo so I have a garish white usb at the front,
2) Bought it from America as it was £100 cheaper, but this gives 2 problems, the rear connector was different, costing me an extra £45, and the DVD player is obviously region 1, only plus side is that im never going to watch dvds on it, but still like to have the option!
