Well I saw a thread about putting the injectors and turbo from a CR170 and with a remap it should take it up to around 200hp (has anyone done this or seen it done?) but after chatting with one of the guys from Darkside today I've decided to go for a big turbo, manifold, dpf delete and exhaust so i will hopefully be able to keep up with some of you guys :p

Other than that my priority is brakes and suspension. I'm putting GTI suspension and ARB's on, hopefully by Monday then I will find some GTI brakes and fit them ( if anyone has any let me know please)

I do over 20k a year so can't mess around too much with it as i need some fuel economy.

Some pictures of the front end taken today. I've decided to paint the strip on the grille blue, calipers blue and paint the engine cover silver and blue. Hopefully get it done next weekend.

Unfortunately i binned them as they were stuck on so well, I had to break them to get them off.

Today I managed to fit the new rear springs and got the front shocks out before realising i don't have the right tools to get the bolt on top off, and anywhere that could sell something to do it is closed.

Does anyone know what the best tools for it is? (without spending a fortune on the VW tool) I was thinking    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silverline-10-21mm-Dogbone-Wrench-Box-Spanners-Mechanical-Engineering-Tools-DIY-/300833619468?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item460b14be0c   then putting the 7mm allen key through it.

I got it from ebay, Ready painted and it has 3M tape that just sticks it on. Very easy to do.

I think thats the one i got.

if your doing a brake up grade i would be lookins at the r32 of s3 set up instead with the engine mods you have in mind

I looked into it but from what I'm told s3 brakes wont fit under 17's so its £500 for the brakes then the same again at least for new wheels, but i could get the gti brakes with yellow stuff pads for between £200 to £300.

The other problem is that i need the brakes done very soon as the remap has made it too much for the little 288 brakes to handle and i get some serious fade after enthusiastic driving.
