Okay update time. I went to the VW main dealers in Yeovil and, like Amy Winehouse, they said no, no, no! They also said if it could be done then they wouldn't due to insurance reasons.
Went to a diagnostics place and they said they can't be coded out.
Went to Autotechnics in Gillingham, Dorset and they spoke to the man from Bosch I believe. He said the original coding cant be changed as the airbag coding is one time only. He also said off the record that the only way to get over it would be to fit 2.5-3 Ohm resistors into the airbag circuit to fool the car into thinking that the airbags were still there.
dont you have to use a resistor to stop the air bag light coming on
This. I made the resistors up and was pretty easy
Looks like that is the only way forward so if anybody can explain how I go about this then your help would be much appreciated.
I'm assuming I would have to connect the resistors to the yellow airbag connectors under the seats but which wires do i connect to as there are 3?
