My new Motors!
« on: April 16, 2013, 10:32:53 pm »

Having been unable to find a decent Octavia VRS wagon in blue or black in budget, I bought myself a lovely little Transit, Connect TDCI and as a weekend runabout I've been able to scratch a long -held itch: A BMW E46 330Ci.

The spec is unbelievable:

Harmon Kardon Sound
Xenons
Heated electric leather seats with memory and electric lumbar
6 disc CD
Rear electric sunblind
Climate
Electric mirrors with memory
M Sport suspension
Tax till Feb 14
85K with FSH
2001 51 plate
Private plate worth between 1000-1500 Included!!
Immaculate bodywork apart from one door ding, no bumper scuffs and no scratches
2 owners
Amazing straight six engine noise and exhaust note

And I paid for all this the princely sum of £2965!!! If you can find a better car for this money I've yet to see it. Unbelievable, and well and truely delghted. It has massively softened the blow of selling my Golf.

Fun Golf: 2016 mk7 R DSG 3 door. Work Golf: 2015 mk7 1.4 TSI GT ACT 5 door.
Gone but not forgotten : mk2 Golf GTI 16v, mk4 Golf V6 4Motion, mk5 GTI Storm Developments Stage 1, mk5 GTI Revo Stage 1, BMW 330ci, Skoda Octavia VRS Revo Stage 2, BMW Z4 Sdrive35i.

Ive been looking at these.  Looking for new motor at the moment and theres a few of these for sale near me, although I love the look of the E39 530i Sports; Stunning car.

Whats the performance/handling like compared to a GTI Stock/modified?

It's very different being rear wheel drive, and I'm still getting used to it, so haven't driven it anywhere near the limit. It does however feel very communicative, and is easy to put it exactly where you want it. It feels like it will be great, but I've yet to push it. Saving that for the weekend!!

No, I think they're 15 spoke M sport Style 32 wheels according to the internet. They have the Msport M logo on them.

LOL Dom, When my finances are back on track, I'll probably be back in my 3rd MK5 GTi now I've got a decent little Connect. I'll go Ed30 next though after 2 K03's!!!! The Beemer is a lovely car though, and keeps me in petrol-headedness whilst I recover financially after my bump!!

Thanks Robin, it is very elegant, one of my top 3 BMW designs after the E30 325i sport and the original sharknose M635CSi.  :happy2:

And it sounds AMAZING!!! Handles very nicely too, so for 3 grand it'll keep me satisfied until I'm repaired financially. ED30 will be my next VAG car  :happy2:
