Random loss of power??
« on: January 21, 2017, 06:54:54 pm »
I'm after some help!!

I've recently had my dv valve replaced and have lots more power! Must have been leaking for months! But on a few occasions I've completly lost boost. Absolutely no power. I pull over, turn car on and off, and drive away like normal. This has only happened since my dv was replaced last week. Any ideas? I've got a stage 1 map which has been on there for 12 months or so. Intake and cat back exhaust.

Check if you fitted the dv properly

Yeah check all bolts done up tightly and if you can take it off and put in again to make sure it was flush. Also check plug going into valve is pushed on tight.

This was a garage that fitted it for me while they did something else for me. I will have to take it back and get them to check it over. Hopefully it's just something as simple as that?

Any oil dripping from the intercooler and turbo discharge pipe connections?

Same happened to me recently (Stg 1 Ed30).  I'd put my foot down and it just felt like I'd lost loads of boost.  No faults or poor running, just slow.  Sure enough, loads of oil on the undertray directly under the turbo discharge pipe.  Leaking O ring.   Replaced it (and the clip) and it's back to normal again.

I haven't noticed any to be honest mate but I will have a look when I next get a chance too. To me it just seems strange that once I restart my car it's fine again?
