Red stitching on leather seats - was this ever an option?
« on: April 17, 2013, 09:13:17 pm »
Hi all,

If anyone can help it'd be great - I've recently picked up a Mk5 06 plate Gti - has full service history, is HPi clear etc.  It also has leather seats with red stitching - can anybody enlighten me as to why this might be as it appears to be unusual?

Cheers,

Adam

As above, probably retrimmed or just restitched.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Thanks guys - looks like mine must have been re-stitched or re-trimmed at some point then.  Wow - that must be some cost - have to admit it does look good to my eyes...

Mine are done almost the same as yours. Only difference is the headrests in mine are retrimmed in leather also, which covers the gti logo.

They do get a few comments alright.

Tortaruga- the headrests on mine are also leather-whoever did it has gone to the trouble of replicating the gti stitching too!  Only downside is no heating- how do you find yours in winter?

A wee bit cold initially, but it's better than the 'have I pissed myself?' sensation I feel when sitting in a heated seat.
