Rear wheel bearing at 56k miles?

Nearside rear wheel bearing has gone noisy, fair enough but car has only done 56k, is this normal?

Will take the opportunity to do the rear brakes and the offside bearing when i do the job but surpised at the early wear, pothole perhaps?

Dont think there is much say in when a wheel bearing will go tbh. Working in a garage ive seen cars come in with just over 10k on the clock getting some replaced under warranty. Can be just a poorly manufactured one or the abuse that the British roads offer us

im on 63k and both my rear bearings went in the space of a month

Are you absolutely sure the wheel bearing is at fault. The only reason why i ask is when i bought my GT TDI 170 i thought the rear left bearing was on the way out, however it turned out to be a misshapen tyre. Replaced both the rear tyres and the speed related drowning disappeared.

Yes, sure. I jacked it up and you can hear it rumbling when you spin the wheel. Will do the pair of them as the other wont be far behind probably.

Was going to suggest tyre, shame though.

If you do replace, replace with genuine OE ones... or you'll find yourself replacing them again in 2 months.

Seems odd they go, mine are fine lol, with camber, spacers and a billion and a half miles  Hope you get it fixed soon buddy.
