HPI Check Advice
« on: April 23, 2013, 06:19:14 am »
Hey guys,
I left deposit for my new car yesterday (subject to hpi check), got back home and run HPI check and everything show OK except plate transfer section. Car had few private plates, and one of them showing N1*** was applied to this vehicle on 01/11/2010 - This VRM has been recorded as being written off. The insurance write -off was recorded on 05/05/2003 against a Renault Laguna.
Makes me bit worried and confused as car I am buying Mercedes E320 CDI

Shall I walk away from it or go ahead with purchasing

Thanks

Would that not mean the Laguna was written off when using that plate and then the plate kept until put on merc?

Say it was written off 2003 and put on merc in 2010 or can it be possibility that plate was on another car for 7 years before merc?

Other section all clear,

Police stolen - Not recorded stolen
Outstanding finance - No record having outstanding finance
Insurance write off - no recorded as write off
Insurance theft - not recorded by insurance as a theft
Security - Not recoded on our security register
Mileage - No mileage discrepancy
Valuation - ££££££
Just plate transfer history has red warning on N1*** plate

That is fine. Speaking from experience with my plate the claim will show because of the cherished plate even though it was against a different car.
