How much for a bonnet respray
« on: April 23, 2013, 11:10:31 am »
Hi all, I was just wondering how much I should be looking to pay for a full bonnet respray?

Being a 7-year-old car mine has some pretty serious chips in it and I'd like to tidy it up.

Also, am I right in assuming that Diamond Black Pearl should be relatively pain free to match up to the rest of the car?

This depends on where you go.

I got my bumper sprayed for £100 for example, other places charge £170.

I could get the bonnet sprayed for around £120, again other places might charge £180-200. It just depends... you need to speak to a paint shop really.

Yeah, I've had an estimate from a local body shop and it was more than I thought it would be.

If you doing bonnet , I would recommend you do front bumper and front wings or it will look odd.

Decent body shop would charge anywhere from £350-£500 at a guess.

Do you reckon that would still be the case for a black car?

You could do just the bonnet... but youd have to have it blended into the wings really.

Cool, sounds like a proper job. I'll give Impact in Brighouse a visit.

Their pricing is all over the place though. They did nearly every panel on my mates V6 Clio and it cost £1000, and the majority of panels on a friend's TT which was about £1500. But a bonnet is approximately £400 :rolleye:

Always thought there are more than just 2 paint booths in the UK. Guess I'm wrong again. ;)

I got quoted £300 pound for bonnet and wings blended in. That was at a vw approved body shop. Thought that was a good deal.
Shark Performance Stage 1, itg intake, 3"downpipe decat,  miltek cat back,
Rcd 310.

Im leaving it standard..... Honest

I had sills and bonnet done for 480 after negotiation with VW body shop. The bonnet was heavily stone chipped and the worst ones were filled during prep, this is what costs the money. Yeah sure, get a 100 note respray but the prep will be crap and you won't retain your vw corrosion warranty. I was VERY happy with mine. They replaced the wings for free due to corrosion. Car looks new :)

If your having the bonnet done i would recommend they look at blending it through. On price I had bonnet roof whole front bumper and wings blended for 530. More panels the cheaper they quote! :)
