Waterless Car Wash
« on: April 23, 2013, 04:37:20 pm »
Has anyone ever had this done before?

I'm looking for a decent valeter in South West London after being let down consistently by 2 different companies.
I came across a company who do waterless car cleaning - basically a polish/wax they use with microfibre cloths!
this sounds horrendous....spray on polish/wax then rub with microfibre cloth, surely that just marks and cuts the paintwork with whatever dirt is on the paint beforehand.

here is the email response i got from my enquiry:

Thanks for the enquiry. Our waterless “No Wet” solution will not have any detrimental effect to the quality of paint finish on your car. It is essentially a polish solution in liquid form that will clean, wax and polish your car, and producing a showroom shine finish to your car’s exterior. The solution lifts and dirt or grime off the surface of the paint which is then buffed and wiped off using a microfibre cloth

that requires 1-2 gallons of water!!

check this out....

after about 40 seconds I cannot see how whatever dirt is on the car is simply going to be rubbed all across the paintwork.

What a load of tod. That has clearly been invented for very lazy people who don't want to wash then wax their car. Also I can't see how it wouldn't scratch it either. But then again the people who will use it probably won't be bothered about fine scratches.

I would not bother. It would be much better to detail the car properly once, and have it so the majority of the dirt can be snow foamed off, jetted off at a local petrol station and then QD'd, or washed off using something like Chemical Guys Ecosmart or something when there is not much dirt on the car.

I wouldn't use a waterless wash on a dirty car, on a dusty car such as in America in California they have their place..

I agree with the two above posts. Although it is a good product and a few people have tried to sway me toward waterless washing I just can't do it. Doesn't seem right in my eyes. Good old water will do me  :happy2:
