ED30 - what BHP expected?

Hi all, /First post as im planning on buying an ED30 towards the end of the year and looking at the following mods

S3 intercooler
VWR induction
VWR CAT back system

revo stage 1 remap

What sort of BHP figures can I expect from this - does anyone have experience in this and any recommendations of other kit ( i mainly favour VRW as I know some1 who works for them )

Should be about 300BHP i think... with the intake and S3 cooler.

thats spot on - I was hoping for about 50BHP extra so that looks on the money - I dont think any more than that for fast road is a good idea anyway.

I assume the standard clutch can handle the extra? or do people change those out too? and what about the brakes? is standard ok with fast road pads or should I be looking at S3 swap or brembo etc

Depends on what your using the car for, uprated pads and braided lines will make a good difference though.

just looking for safe fast road set up really, nothing over the top but would like to stand up to the odd S3,VXR,ST challenge when needed  :driver: :evilgrin: :P

I think prior to the power mods il be lloking at engine and tranny mounts, anti roll etc so guess brakes fall in to that chassis category

Revo stage 1 on a standard car will make 280-290bhp mine made 289bhp.

Mods might allow a bit more, though might cause fuelling issues as pump might not meet air demands so pull back... Reducing output.

so if stage 1 alone gets 280bhp why would i pay out for the induction and S3 IC? or is that just hardware on its way to stage 2?

guess i could add a high pressure flue pump in to the mix - or maybe i should save my money and spend it on the handling?

how do you find the drive at 290BHP? have you do any handling/braking mods

If your buying the VWR Intake and VWR Exhaust why dont you get APR mapping? (VWR and APR are in the same building)

You may as well add a HPFP to your list and get a custom map tailored to your mods, Stage 1+. You "may" get clutch slip from Stage 1 with those extra torques but then again.....

I ran APR Stage1 and APR Stage1+ (With HPFP) on OEM Clutch (MK2 Leon Cupra R)

Clutch was fine!

i then had a 3"downpipe and 100cel sports cat fitted and it started slipping straight away (Without Mapping)

You need a Downpipe for your other mods to make as Richwig said towards 300bhp, without them then an intake and cat back aren't gonna give you full benefit.Again intercooler will benefit in the summer somewhat but the Downpipe is the one that is basically the key to the other mods, or you looking at much smaller gains. 290bhp at absolute most with your list.
Improved brake pads are worth it.

If your not keen on bigger figures then I would sell the Vwr intake, and put an improved panel filter instead. :happy2:

What mods do you have rich? If you have a DSG map you can knock 10-15bhp straight away  :wink:
