Exterior door trim stolen
« on: April 24, 2013, 04:00:06 pm »
Hi, I've just discovered my plastic exterior door trims have been removed from my car.
The car is steel grey in colour

Does anyone know where I can buy replacements at a reasonable price?

(It's the trim that runs along the bottom half of the door)

I wouldn't have thought they would be that valuable to steal but there we are.

Exterior Door trims have been removed? :scared:

Post some pics up, have they damaged your doors at all? VW Dealer or TPS would be your best bet.

^^^^ Sh*t a brick!  :scared:

Why would anyone do that? There really are some scum around.  :fighting: :fighting:

Get yourself to a VW Main dealer and get the parts from them.

^^^I'll tell you why. Those trims are surprisingly expensive at about £40 each. I know because I bought some recently, although I managed to get the front door one on ebay for 'only' £16. They're expensive because they are ready primed for painting.

Some knobjockey has presumably pranged his golf and gone out armed with fishing line to remove these from the first 'donor' he could find.

Actually just noticed that all four are gone so maybe it wasn't someone who bashed their car.

Unreal. :fighting:

Wow, that's unbelievable!

^^^I'll tell you why....

Advertising how much they are worth and the easiest way to remove them probably isn't the best idea on an open forum... just saying, but maybe I'm being over-sensitive due to having had my GTI grille badge stolen. :sad1:

Not the mention the countless VW badges I've had nicked from cars in the past... for which I'm still holding the Beastie Boys fully responsible.
