Mine logged in auto scan but also in basic measuring (blocks 14 & 15 from memory) the miss fire stopped counting when I pressed the throttle but its because detection was disabled when the throttle was pressed from what I could see

That sound just like mine when I had mine plugged in

Its blocks 15-16 are where you need to monitor :happy2:

Sat with my car idle and watched these, cylinder 2 will show 3 misfire or 2 misfires then reset to 0 then pop upto 2 again.

Seems its possibly not my alternator after all. Going to swap spark plug/coilpack and fingers crossed it moves!

It's apparently acceptable to have just a couple of cylinder misfires on these engines, but when it starts misfiring in as many in seconds, then its time to act  :happy2:

Mine does exactly the same as this can wait ages for a misfire then 3 will show then clear itself and its not all the time and sometimes worse than others depending on what the weathers like at the time

Mine would rapidly count just past a 100 then reset. It may have started off slower & less frequent before I started scanning

So if its not plugs or could causing the misfire is it likely to be injectors, is there anyway to test them without having to take them out personally

No unfortunately you can't, only rule out everything else, if fuel pump is ok, spark plugs moved, coils moved and maybe coil pack harness checked, then there isn't much else.

Apparently a tool is needed to remove them, so its a dealer or Vag specialist is recommended to do the work.

1 x injector and manifold seal kit and and labour with diagnostic is costing me circa £400.

As far as I can see the fuel rail pressure is what it should be I swapped all the coils and plugs round and still cylinder 2 is the one vcds is logging as the missfire but its ever so slight and now and again driving me mad now

When the cold start misfiring starts, then I would be looking at it more closely.
To improove it further, use the aircon

What do you mean cold start missfire. I'm new to all of this lol, mine is just more annoying than a problem with it shaking on idle like a race cam in it and it just judders at low speed but perfect once revs are up. Don't know the route to go down either fix it or just forget about it and enjoy the car and maybe remap to see if it helps atall

Your car will sound like a suburu flat 4 wrx engine when you rev it from cold morning start up. :signLOL:

Remap won't shift the misfire.

Fix it before remapping is my advice.
