Boring car for boring people. The performane pack will attract those who want a bit more and add some more cash to the VW group. Megane RS or Astra VXR unless you need the extra doors, or wait for the next five door only Civic Type R. The DSG doesnt even belong in a GTI or any hot hatch for that matter.

I read Auto Express review and it was quite the opposite. A marked improvement over the mk6
New Civic Type R should be immense though, it's taking them long enough to design
