ATE super blue is pretty much the best (apart from extortionately priced fluids like castrol SRF).

i have used both and i have castrol srf in at the mo and vwr said whats this blue crap in your brake fluid when they changed the brake oil when i had the service done  :laugh:

Just ordered a tin of the ATE Stuff, will get some braided hoses next month and ds2500s with OEM discs in sept.
Will coincide with fitting VWR clutch kit  :smiley:  & 20k service by then

Hi,

Im currently running my edition 30 at 300bhp on std brakes, iv fitted ferodo ds2500 pads all round and can honestly say that the diference is like night and day.  They gave me more than enough confidence at the nurburgring and stood up to a whole day of Oulton park on Friday.  The only problem at Oulton was I could feel my brake fluid starting to boil on my very last outing.  In a nutshell try fitting DS2500's all round and changing your brake fluid to a race spec one and you should have some very impressive stopping power for under £250 and half a days work.

Go one step further and have a full Cupra R setup (bigger calipers and disks), fit DS2500's to them and you will see even better stopping power and maintain your OEM look.

Im still toying with the idea of doing this myself as I cant justify spending £1,800 on my daily drive and ocassional track/ring toy (erm that could have been worded a little better)

Although I have shiny kit syndrome and would love a huge shiny 2 piece brake kit Im impressed with my Mk2 Cupra brakes so am going to fit braided lines, ds2500s and new discs and fluid.  What fluid would you recommend??

I run Motul RB 600F fluid on my ED 30 and all previous track cars....very stable and super high boiling point.

Again I ran this on my outing at Combe with EBC Yellows....they were fine....no fade or long pedal.

People moan about  EBC's but I had never used them previously having used Tarox Carbon ceramics and Pagid Blue but the yellows were remarkable around Combe on 312mm discs.

My race friends from Tim Stiles Racing were equally impressed as was VWR today whilst testing my car for my KW set up.

Maybe on the too do list: APR Stage 2+, KW Clubsports, Brakes, Diff.

So you can literally just remove the standard brakes and bolt the R32 etc brakes directly to the existing holes etc ? Sounds like a job even I could carry out!

I'm not really disappointed with the standard brakes but I like the look of the BIGGER brakes but wasn't prepared to spend a boat load on it. Think I'll give them pads a try tho.

....How long the pads last depends how heavy you are on using brakes.

AP Racing supply 'Race' DS2500's with their big brake kit and mine lasted 40k miles but I am exceptionally light on brake use, tending to use them heavily but less often than the average road driver. However, they have been selected as best to match AP's disc materials.

I cant remember how much I was quoted but was going to get them from my local tuner Awesome Gti
