Simple but it works lol after installing the milltek tbe non res with decat I decided to fold the backseats down and remove the parcel shelf and it makes a massive difference in being able to hear the exhaust! Try it!

I find winding the window down or opening the sunroof has a similar effect or alteratively for the really hardcore driving with the boot open.

Also by putting the seats down it reduces the weight of the car and give you better aerodynamics too....

^^ I've heard that too.

But the best way is to connect a pipe from the exhaust into the cabin, you get a really good effect, and after a good run we don't have to read threads like this anymore.
