Cupra K-1
« on: April 28, 2013, 06:27:15 pm »
Hi guys,

Some shots of my 2008 Cupra K1.

Bought in May 2012, 2nd owner, with 26k on the clock.

Usual Spec: 2.0TFSI, SeatSport exhaust, SeatSport seats, dual zone climate control, cruise control, bluetooth, auto lights and wipers, sunroof, 18inch 'orion' wheels and so on!

What i've done:

Full service @ 30k miles- sparks, filters etc.
'Facelift' rear wiper
Pagid brake pads all round.
Revo Panel filter
Revo Stage 1 re-map, sitting at 300 bhp/300ftibs @3000rpm

Plans:

Adding Audi S3 intercooler
Front splitter
THS Gearbox & engine mounts
Revo intake
Kw Coilovers
Eibach rear anti roll bar
Pagid brake discs (will possibly add these when she's serviced next year)
Milltek cat-back (plan to take the centre exhaust silencer off as a temporary measure)

Thanks for looking.

Comments/suggestions welcome.

Dave

Some shots of the last big clean:

Arches cleaned down with Autogylm engine cleaner, rinsed with the PW and sealed with some meguiars protectant. Wheels cleaned with Mequiars hotrims and sealed with Autoglym sealant.

Brush in and around the badges:

Before and after of the exhaust, buffed with Meguiars metal cleaner:

Interior:

I know, i know, still need to sort that awful stereo set up!

Engine- cleaned and dressed with Meguairs:

There's a few small scuffs that need sorted on the bodywork.

Handling or looks wise?

I was looking at some kw coilovers, but they're a bit pricey for me at the moment!

Sorry matey, I didn't mean for my comment to seem as rude as it did!  :ashamed:

I always find that the Leons look like they're on stilts with the stock springs.  :sad1:

A lot of people run them on Eibach Sportline springs which nice a nice stance and also don't handle too badly either. They shouldn't alter your insurance too much either, nothing like what your remap will have. :happy2:

Haha, don't worry mate, it didn't sound rude!

I'll take a look at the Eibachs, never thought of them in truth!

Thanks man, appreciate it.

Been following your thread over on seatcupra.net. Looks like a bit of a weapon!

Are these the springs you meant?

Ha, cheers matey!  :drinking:

Yeah those are the ones. They are pretty good actually but don't forget you'll need a full wheel alignment after fitting them.

Haha, something else I didn't know!

Would you go for springs first before mounts etc? Wanting to tighten up the handling a tad!

Tbh mate, if you want to do them both then I'd do them at the same time as you'll need an alignment after altering anything to do with the suspension!

Yeah, had looked at getting the WALK kit and mounts done in one, with possibly a rear ARB at a later date.

Might have to throw the springs or some coilovers in too then!
