« on: May 01, 2013, 05:42:51 pm »
Fitting a BBK but trying to avoid spacers, have 1.5mm clearance on the face of R8 calipers till the spokes, running 19x8 bbs ck wheels with et44 and dont want to go a mark the face of the new r8 calipers, what clearance have you guys got on the BBKs on your cars

thanks

Ouch, slap a 3mm spacer in there...
Without traction power is nothing!

I maybe able to take 1mm off the carrier to allow the caliper back in, what clearance would be advisable? Have a 3mm spacer but don't fancy using them long term as I hate when the wheel isn't resting on the hub

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but with 3mm spacer there should still be some protruding hub for the rim to sit on.

Depends on the wheels, but yes a 3mm spacer should still allow the wheel to rest on the hub.

Wouldn't you then have to have new bells made to allow for the moving of the caliper? Otherwise you'd be putting pressure on the disc.

If I had to redo the bells it would be worth it, will run with the 3mm spacers and see how it goes thanks
Has anyone upgraded the rear brakes I had the s3/r32 caliper at the moment
