Shaun's Shadow Blue GT Tdi - spoiler fitted
« on: May 01, 2013, 09:07:09 pm »
Hi guys i thought i would finally start my "build thread". I made one a while back when i first got it but i cant find it. so i thought i would start a fresh. I have not done alot to it yet just subtle changes to make it look abit better.

So this is how i bought the car, well the closest to standard pic i can find

1.So as i spent most of my saving on the car. Money was tight. So i started with the cheap stuff. Self tinted rear lights

Before- needs a clean

during

after

2.Next up was the red calipers

3.Shortly after that was to get rid of the horrid rear. I decided to just get a gti backbox and a gti colour coded rear valance.
Before

After

4. Day running lights and mud flaps before the winter.

5.Then i decided to get a gti grill to go with the calipers. i made sure i took the gti badge of though. I also wrapped the front grill badge in matt black vinyl.

6. I was planing on getting a remap so i thought i would get a boost guage before hand to see the difference.

More pics to come!  :happy2:

Looks very nice bud, pretty jealous :)

Couple of questions if I may though, How much was the colour coded rear valance, and how hard was the boost gauge to fit ?

cheers pal.

The valance was £60 ish from awesome gti with the toe cover. Then I paid a local garage £70 to have it colour coded.
As for the boost gauge that was easy to fit. I just took a power feed from the fuse box by inserting an adapter. Then I got a turbo hose with a nipple on it to take a boost feed for the gauge.
It looks better at night when it is light up as it goes with the dash lights.

Not hard at all. All you need is a reducer pipe. You can get this from a few places for about £5.The exhaust is only on for looks though.
