Advice on a Gofl

I've found a Golf at what seems to be a good price, it does need a few bits doing to it though so I'm looking for some advice on it

Car specs are:

3 Door GTi in black 95k miles
Manual
Rear tints
Xenons
Heated seats
Armrest

Full history, mostly VW and cambelt & water pump done at 87k

I can get the car for £4750, here are the bad bits

Drivers side front arch has some rust bubbling starting - I believe this can be sorted under warranty?
Has Wanli tyres all round so I'd like to change them, what is the rough price for a set of 4 tyres
Drivers side wing mirror indicator plastic needs replacing - cheap? easy to get hold of?
Has some 'mayo' under the oil filler cap - Do these cars suffer from condensation from short driving? It has only done 3000 miles since September so I imagine it has been used for short journeys

I'm a bit put off by the mileage but it is backed up with good history and I think I am getting a good price on it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

That's very cheap...check it's not cat D and make sure it's been regularly serviced...on time every time. If it's been looked after, 95k miles is no problem.

Rust, yes warranty free. Do a search.
Wing mirror cover, yes cheap and a diy job. Search for a guide on here.
4 gy eagle f1 around £460 fitted.
Mayo is common, just needs an italian tune up.

You say mayo on the oil filler cap?

Does this look like a baileys cream? How much off it. Condensation shouldn't cause much at all. You can also check the dipstick and the coolant cap. If any of these have the same baileys cream effect then I wouldn't buy the car.

It is through a friend in the trade which is why it is cheap and it has been HPI'd already

Yeah kind of looks like Baileys cream I suppose, there was a fair amount. I didn't check the coolant. It is at a garage so I could see if they can do a sniff test on it

It also looks like I'll be able to get a 12 month warranty on it at a good price

It is common for the mayo on short journeys... however what's the coolant look like, nice and pink or muddy?

It's a very good price, most of what you've pointed out are cheap to sort.  If you do buy it, I'd look at getting the Camfollower changed as a matter of priority.

In a perfect world you'd be able to inspect the car fully, by scanning it for errors... removing the HPFP etc.

I can get good access to the car, I've got a cheapo ebay ODBII scanner would that show up any errors if it has any?

What is the HPFP?

Oh ok, what needs to be checked on that. Is it just a visual check or does it need testing in some way?

It's the cam follower that needs to be replaced by removing the hpfp. You can't check it without taking it apart. Do it yourself if you buy the car, again guides on here.

take the car on a long test drive up the motorway and back, give it some beans.

If they mayo has gone then i wouldn't worry past that.
