Thought i would start this and get other members to share their tips/cleaning regime and how their cars turn out.

Mine:

Hand wash with Turtle Wash and Wax then hand dry.
Wash and clean the rims and blacken the tyre's
Hand polish with Meguiars Ultimate Wax
Vacuum and the clean the interior and windows.

All this takes me about 2 hours and the end result is as follows.

I think the detailing forum is probably more suitable for this post http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=12.0

A proper going over would involve:

Jet wash
Snow foam
Jet wash
APC - May do this first
Jet wash
Wash with 2BM - Been using some Meg stuff but got some AF Lather to try
Clay / tardis
Jet wash
Wash with 2BM
SRP
Poorboys White Diamond
Jetseal 109 x 2
Collinite 476 x 2

Wheels have already been treated to SRP, Jetseal 109 x 2 and collinite 476 x 3
Then do all the plastics and the windows with rain-x

It would also get machined polished at some point too

Interior would be:

Good hoover all over
Wipe over plastics to get rid of the dust
Leather cleaner and conditioner
Natural look on all the plastics

Even the back of the seats have been polished and sealed....

All of that would take me a full weekend, about 16hrs in total...

If I'm doing the weekly clean I do
rince with hose/jetwash
Wash with chemical guys maxi suds and
Use two bucket method with grit guards
Rince
Dry using big fluffy drying towel
Remove trapped water with leaf blower
Run over exterior with poor boys quick detailer
Dry all door shuts and wheels
Dress tyres
I do both cars in 1.5 hrs ..this is my maintenance wash

Have you tried another Snow Foam as Maxi suds is hardly known for its dirt shifting ability.. Might mean you don't need to faff around with 2 buckets  :happy2:

Also OP I'd suggest you top with a wax otherwise the "polish" won't last very long

What foam would you suggest?

Also, he used megs ultimate wax which is actually a decent product tbh.

There are some really good ones, Autobrite Magifoam and Bilt Hamber Autofoam.. I use Autofoam myself. Magifoam foams up a little more, Autofoam is cheaper. Both clean about the same.  :popcornsoda:

Yeah Megs stuff is good, just how it was written looked like he "polished with megs ultimate wax" (I suspect he means Ultimate Polish) which is good but does need topping with a wax to seal in the shine :D

I've got angelwax snowfoam, and tbh it's awesome. Foams like nothing else and cleans really well.
