RNS 510 and parking sensors
« on: May 02, 2013, 04:05:52 pm »
HI,
I am considering upgrading my RCD300 to an RNS and i was wondering if it would work with my parking sensors. My car is an 07 GTI and they are factory fitted sensors, is the type of sensor too old? does the RNS need a specific module? . I don't have an MFSW or Highline so just wondering what other intergration i would get from the unit

The standard parking sensors won't show anything on the screen, if that's what you mean.

Unless you have a polar fis advanced that can emulate the sensors and obstacles on the rns510's screen.
Without traction power is nothing!

This is what you see on the screen when reversing on your rns510 (I know the pic shows a different model) and polar fis advanced. You must of course have parking sensors installed.

I did this on my Jetta, had to remove the factory sensors and module, put in the new module, sensors and change the wiring as the modules are hooked up differently.
