Well my car has always run real strong and never skipped a beat. I recently fitted an S3 Intercooler and changed my spark plugs to Nology Silver.
About 3 times now on hard acceleration the car has coughed and bogged down for a sec and then picked back up as usual.

Today however I was about 10miles from home and it did the same.  :sad1:

Thinking nothing about the "Fart" I had a nice spirited drive. When it came to some hard braking I noticed that they faded abnormally quick. (S3 brakes all round) I was more than a little concerned.

Anyway I took it steady as I was nearly home.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I thought I'd see if this Fuel cutting out "Fart" was still present.

I have it some gas, and once again it bogged down....but this time it stayed like this. (Limp mode)

The EPC and the Traction lights lit up on the dash and stayed on the rest of the 3mile journey.  :sad1:

Anyone got any ideas/advice?

Should I have had my Revo settings adjusted to allow for the S3 Intercooler?

Why do these things always happen on a Saturday/Sunday when you can't get it looked at for days?

Carlo.

Check the IC pipes on both sides, check you have the rubber seals on them too.

When i fitted mine the day after i blew the hose off (causing car to die, warning lights and such), and it was because i didn't have the rubber washer on (aherm....)

You really need a vcds scan and pray that it's not your abs unit that's packed up.
Without traction power is nothing!

ah mate hope you get it sorted soon...

could it be a coil pack, did it seem as if it was running on jungle juice?

sometimes when adding new bits, it does no harm to disconnect the battery for 15 min for a reset...

 :happy2:
If it's not broke, Mod it.....

I bet you have this fault code, just like I suffered last night:

It means you will need a new throttle body.

I would find it odd for it to be the ABS pump.
Everyone screams about it but to be honest it's like £200 to have fixed these days, not a lot of wedge, certainly not the £1000+ shockers people are spreading.

When you noticed the little coughs did you notice the traction control light?
Give it a scan with Vagcom and see what the car THINKS is wrong.. and work from there using logic.  :drinking:

It's been running fine Neil, well apart from the 3 or 4 times it bogged under acceleration.  :ashamed:

TBH Doc, I was a little worried it might be an ABS issue.  :surprised:

Ill try and get a scan done tmrw...if not Mon/Tues  :happy2:

Cheers Buddy Will do  :happy2:

(I didn't notice any lights flash on the dash when it coughed.)

Feels like you hit a wall when at full throttle at about 4000-5000RPM... followed by EPC and traction light on the dash

Yes... its immediate power loss. Followed by limp mode.

Believe me Neil you would know.

As you accelerate hard, you are pulled back into your seat, then when the fuel cuts out you are thrown forward like you have just pressed the brake.

The fuel only cuts out for less than a second so then when it picks up again you accelerate as normal, pushing you back in your seat.
