Exhaust question

Would a mk6 r exhaust fit on a mk5 r32 valance ?

I'd like to know the answer to this too.

I was just about to ask if R32 exhausts would fit a golf mk6 with R valance.

Lots of R32 exhausts for cheap but nearly no mk6 R ones.

Physical differences are below:

All id want to do is get the back box welded on so all I would care about is the tips fitting in the wholes on the r32 valance really, I've seen a couple if r32 exhaust but collection only miles away! I'm in talks with someone now buying a r exhaust if it will fit ill buy it. If it wot fit on my mk5 ill pass him on to you if you like.

As far as I can tell, having not taken measurements I think they should fit.

However, I dont think the mounts for the backbox will line up due to the 4wd system so the backbox is smaller. So itll need modding im sure!

I think extending the hangars is all it would take but need to get it right or the pipes wont line up with the cutouts on the valance!

hmm i think its quite a custom job. Independant backstreet welders more likely to do it. need rods to extend by welding them on id have thought

I've just tried fitting a mk5 r32 back box on my mk5 gti but the suitcase box is was too big to fit under the car? Does the r32 have a shallow spare wheel well or something?

As I said the 4wd system means the pipework takes a different route and backbox is condensed.

The boot is more shallow in R32s as thats where the spare wheel is. The R32 battery is where our spare wheel sits!!

I think it might be easier to forget an OEM R32/R exhaust and fit an aftermarket R32 style exhaust thatll fit GTIs and normal golfs as the fittings are correct like milltek, BCS etc etc..

I knew the pipe work took a different route, I was just going to chop and weld the back box on. But I was unaware of the r32 having a shallow wheel well :(
