As some of you will already know from my Facebook Page, I had a large piece of debris fall off (or thrown up by) a caravan I was overtaking on fast dual carriageway (A34) and which was heading straight through my windscreen and into my face - A Felipe Massa moment which went, as they do, into slo-mo. I took avoiding action and it smashed into my expensive carbonfibre wing mirror casing instead.
I found a local guy who does carbonfibre anything (mostly marine and based in Portland, Dorset) and he can repair it fortunately. However, he needs it for a period of about 4 days because he will resin layer by layer and then there's time for lacquering to add. So, I need to either borrow or buy a driver's side (offside) Mk5 Golf (any Mk5 version) mirror casing and as it's temporary I'm not fussed about colour although the ideal would be black if I was buying it. A friend of mine who runs an accident repair centre is looking out for one but it could be awhile.
Does anyone know the part # please?
And does anyone happen to have a spare I can borrow (I would pay postage of course) please? Or even buy if not expensive?
