Is it worth getting the Diverter Valve Ver G, over the D

Hi i changed to the version D a while back and the car ran a lot better, but i have noticed a lot of people are know getting Version G.Is this worth getting?

It seals better because it uses a rubber diaphragm rather than plastic, so yes.

I recently changed from a D to a G. The car definitely boosts better no question!

I've also seen the difference. Defo worth it.

I just got a G, but my C was ripped up, I have noticed a massive difference, my car is fast now! But not sure on what the difference between a working C and G would be though...

I was just goin to ask the same questions on this topic  :laugh:

I brought the rev G at the end of march, and got round to changing what I would assume was a C in my GTI, but after a 10min struggle was shocked to see it was actually a D! So I left it as was, knowing it is better the the C whilst I researched which I should go with. I haven't experience any boost issues but thought I would follow your recommendations of updating to either a D or G. After reading this post sound like I might be back under engine sooner than expected to pop the G in!

The part number for the revision G is: 06F 145 710G
Price at end of may was £32.27 + vat

I was running a rev d for about 12 months or so as at the time people recommended changing to it. I've now gone back to g and this is so much more responsive. A lot of people get confused with the d but its a different product line so it isn't actually after the c before g. As I said its different part code and its particular current version just happens to be rev d.

Changed my Rev D to a Rev G today... in through the wheel arch is a nice way of doing it, just a bit of faff getting all the arch liner out, after that it's easy and much better access to the top bolt.  Note: I left the plug on until I'd undone all the bolts, you can get your hands on it easier that way.

Result:  No different to me, Stage 1.5 - perhaps my Rev D was doing ok - at least it's another thing I know how to do :happy2:

So glad that my LCR has the DV at front of engine  :grin:

I went into VW Leeds today and eventually got seen by the parts guy who then couldn't find my order on the system. I then asked for a diverter valve and he didn't have a clue what I was on about and told me he had never heard of it. I gave him the above part number but nothing came up, I presume it should actually be 06F 145 710 G as per the next post. After explaining what it did and him telling me he couldn't find it I asked him to go to the garage and ask for some advise. They had never heard of a diverter valve either but did mention a pressure release valve which is a common fault (presume this is what VW call it?). Another 5 mins of looking at the computer by which time I had run out of time, and patience, as I had to be somewhere else and ended up leaving empty handed.

ETKA calls it a cut-off valve, not a diverter valve...this may have been the cause of the confusion.

Same when i spoke to TPS, and part guys never like you giving them numbers
