Twintake problems?
« on: April 28, 2013, 09:27:42 am »
Hi guys so I have had my twintake on for just over a week now and at quarter throttle and half throttle the car feels very hesitant. Anyone have ideas? The divertor is brand new for the revision and there seems to be a lot of fluttering from that too is this normal on stage 1 eddy? Cheers ollie

Is this your first CAI? I find they kill some of the low end torque, but help the turbo breathe more top end.

I'd suggest putting your OEM kit back on and retesting, it may just be the characteristic of a CAI your experiencing... And hopefully your haven't dropped anything in the turbo fins.

Also check and double check any air leaks.

Can you run VCDS to check for errors and perhaps a Dyno... Rpm and MAF gs

You need to let it re-adapt to the new values. If you have vagcom you can reset the learning or simply pull the battery for 10 mins and that will reset the ecu. Your stage 1 map will be fine.
Before that have you checked for any fault codes or air leaks?. Sometime the seal from around the maf sensor may nkt seat right and allow air to escape giving the ecu false readings. Check all the jubilee clips etc. Failing that Id re-install the oe engine cover and see what happens.

Double check what your fuel trims are reading. Block 32.

Revision G I'm guessing you've installed?

Yeah revision g Steve been told its the only one for the eddy? I haven't yet scanned or checked it but something really tells me my map is crap, I have a feeling it's revo an old early version as its all boost at 2500 and pulls to 3500 and runs out of puff really just doesn't feel right it's very on and off hesitant too.

Disconnecting your battery can reset your revo settings to 0-0-0. You would then need an sps switch to re-enter the correct values

You can ring revo directly quoting your vin and car registration number and they should be able to tell if you have a revo map on your car. Telephone 01327301901

And you should be able to pop in to a revo dealer and get them to change the settings with an sps switch for next to nothing
