tdi owners egr valve gasket
« on: May 11, 2013, 07:00:48 pm »
Just a quick mention if you didn't know,  there is a gasket from a skoda and seat that restricts the amount of gas fed back in. I put one on my car today as its cheaper than an egr delete . it seams smoother and has a better pick up. The gasket cost me £2.54 from tps. Part number 028131547b. Below is a picture of the difference between the 2,

Would it not cause a build up to develop over time causing a blockage?

Apparently you can reduce the amount of gas going through the egr using VCDS.

I think this was also a way to stop the stutter the some 170's would suffer with.

Yeah I believe this is true, if not you can do it as part of a remap, basically set the EGR to constantly be open (as little gas recirculation as possible). You could also just put a solid washer over the return pipe.
