EGR Delete's
« on: May 17, 2013, 02:44:03 pm »
Hey folks,
Fitted a makeshift EGR delete to my car but after a short period of time the CEL comes up with a message "Emissions Workshop!", had the code read and cleared by my local friendly garagae and reconnected my EGR.

Was wondering anyone in the Shropshire ( pref Telford or Shrewsbury)  / West Mids area could map out just the EGR ?

Thanks folks  :happy2:

I've already spoken to AP Automotive. My car is already mapped by the guys up at Awesome GTI, bit of a trek just for an EGR delete.

AP Automotive would only do it as part of a full remap of there own software. They wouldn't want to touch another companies map. Which I totally understand..just annoying though :P

Buy the egr delete kit from darkside and then get awesome to tweak your map to allow for the egr delete. Simples.  :happy2:

Nobody will tweak another companies map to do a EGR delete

Take it back to Awesome or Pay for more mapping simples.

I am very tempted to just drive it with the light on, the code that came up was along the lines of EGR Valve Insufficient Flow so its clearly the one that needs to be removed.
Would the general consensus to be just don't worry about the CEL till I can get it mapped out ?

It's a bit of a drive, but I would gladly map this out for you FOC. It's a simple single map change.
